Report Fraud

Report the criminal activity to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), call the toll-free hotline at 1-877-ID THEFT (1-877-438-4338) to speak with a trained identity theft counselor, or enter information about your complaint into a secure FTC online database at www.identitytheft.gov. Your information may be shared with other law enforcement agencies investigating identity theft.

If you feel your personal or financial information has been compromised, contact your local Banking Center immediately.

If you think your data is vulnerable because of a security event, follow these steps:

• Contact your Peoples Bank Banking Center
• Act immediately by visiting www.identitytheft.gov and calling the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 1-877-IDTHEFT (1-877-438-4338) to make a report and get a recovery plan.
• File a police report and keep it in your records.
• Change your passwords and associated emails.
• Consider setting freezes on your other bank accounts and debit cards if you suspect a scammer has gained access.
• Closely monitor your credit for other suspicious activities.
• Initiate a credit freeze and notify all 3 major credit bureaus:
